Summer meant having lots of barbecue parties, or picnics, or beach parties. If we don’t have the luxury of time or resources to go outside, we can do it at home! One summer treat that we all love are smores.
It’s a traditional campfire food, by roasting marshmallows and sandwiching it over graham crackers. Its name came from the contraction of what it means to try it for the first time – you really want to have “some more”, hence s’mores. It’s quite historical too, with the first publication of its recipe in 1927.
But how do you make smores inside one’s apartment? I obviously can’t set up an open fire at my birdcage flat because of the smoke detectors. So what I did was to place one graham cracker, placed marshmallows on top of it, and let it roast in the oven for 10 minutes at 150º C. Don’t let the mallows totally melt! After I took out the crackers and placed bits of chocolate bars on top of the mallows. Placed them in the oven for 3-5 mins. now at this point the chocolate is very soft and will start to melt anytime. I took them out at pressed another graham cracker on top. The best part is when you press the sandwich and the gooeyness comes out! As seen in the photo below!!!
